The stage of The Hermitage theatre is distinguished by a special beauty, graceful decorations, and a unique historical tie to the Imperial past of the Hermitage that hosted performances attended by Catherine the Great. Today the best artists perform annually from April till October.

Palace Theatre (Theatre of Musical Comedy)

The whole history of Theatre of Musical comedy is inseparably linked with St.-Petersburg. The theatre is situated on one of the most beautiful and oldest St.-Petersburg squares – Arts square that was created by genius of Italian architect Carlo Rossi. The former Palace Theatre now known as the Music Comedy Theater is located on Italianskaya Street. This historic street is one of the oldest in the city. We are proud to organise our performances in such a beautiful and historic place.

The famous St.Petersburg State ballet was created in 1990 by the family of professional ballet dancers and the dynasty that is more than 100 years old.

St.Petersburg State ballet has successfully conducted more than 50 tours worldwide to include Japan, France, Belgium, England, Ireland, Spain, USA, The Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Turkey, Estonia, Isle of Malta, and in other countries. The theater has participated in 10 international ballet festivals.Today the repertoire of the theatre “Russian Ballet” includes such classical masterpieces as “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Nutcracker”, “Giselle”, “Paquita”, “Chopiniana”, “Don Quixote”, “The Walpurgis Night”, “La Bayadere” and The Gala Concert of ballet stars “The Golden Age of St.Petersburg ballet”.

The troupe of St.Petersburg State balletboth corps de ballet and soloists are all graduates of the famed Vaganova Ballet Academy, the oldest ballet school in the world (founded in 1738).St.Petersburg State balletperceives as its main mission the preservation of the authentic choreography of the Kirov (presently Mariinsky) Theater. Each ballet is performed in its original choreography.
In St. Petersburg for the last 20 years St.Petersburg State ballet has performed on the stage of one of the best theaters in the world - the Imperial Hermitage Theater of the State Hermitage. There are only 250 seats at the theatre and it can't accommodate everyone who would like to see the performances of this famous ballet company. Therefore, in 2006 the company started to perform at the stage of another beautiful and historic theatre of St. Petersburg – the Palace Theatre, nowadays the theatre of Musical Comedy.
Thousands of ballet admirers from all over the world are coming to these beautiful theaters every year. It is a great honor for the troupe of St.Petersburg State ballet to perform at the oldest stages of St. Petersburg.
