Choreographer, Ballet Master

He was born on April 11, 1947 in Murmansk. Graduated from the Russian Ballet Academy named after A.Vaganova - one of the oldest and most famous choreographic schools in the world, whose name is associated with the flowering and recognition of Russian ballet, where studied such famous dancers as Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mikhail Fokin and others.

From 1967 to 1997 - the soloist of the famous Kirov (Mariinsky) theatre.

During the time of his creative activity in the theatre Alexander Manoshkin proved to be an outstanding artist, he had the recognition of critics and professionals of the art of ballet. An experience of preservation of the traditions of Russian ballet, deep knowledge of the origins of choreography and the history of the creation of performances allowed Alexander Manoshkin to work as a brilliant choreographer, teacher-tutor, artistic director. He gained the reputation of a professional in this activity, recognized in Russia and abroad.

In 2007 Alexander Manoshkin became the teacher-tutor of Saint-Petersburg Theatre "Russian Ballet". He worked with many talented artists, he made them develop their professional skills. He works as a choreographer and artistic director. For the St. Petersburg Theatre "Russian Ballet" he staged such ballets as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Chopiniana, The Nutcracker, Giselle, "Paquita", "Don Quixote". Alexander Manoshkin is the leading director of all ballet performances of the

Theatre "Russian Ballet". He constantly tours with the ballet troupe. He has toured in more than 30 countries around the world.

Alexander Manoshkin is an expert in the Russian ballet school, the origins and traditions of classical ballet, his professional experience is 50 years.
